How much does rhinoplasty cost in Dubai?
The fee depends on the complexity — primary or revision, whether septum or grafts are needed, and the facility. You receive a written, all-inclusive quote after consultation. See the Cost page for what affects the price.
Is rhinoplasty painful?
Most patients describe discomfort and a blocked feeling rather than sharp pain. It is usually well controlled with prescribed medication for the first few days.
Will there be a visible scar?
Closed rhinoplasty leaves no external scar. Open rhinoplasty leaves a small scar across the columella, which usually fades well. When the nostrils are narrowed, Dr Sanjay keeps the incisions inside the nostril where possible, so the scar is hidden.
When will I see the final result?
Much of the change is visible once the splint comes off at a week, but the final shape — especially the tip — takes about 12 months, sometimes longer.
How soon can I fly home after rhinoplasty?
International patients are typically advised to stay in Dubai for 7–10 days, until the splint is removed and the first check is done.
Can I see what my nose might look like?
Photographs are taken at consultation and simulated changes can be discussed. A simulation is a planning aid, not a guarantee of the result.
What is the minimum age for rhinoplasty?
Cosmetic rhinoplasty is usually considered once facial growth is complete — around 16–17 for girls and 17–18 for boys. Functional surgery may be considered earlier when medically needed.
Can rhinoplasty fix my breathing?
If breathing is blocked by a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates or weak nasal valves, these can often be corrected in the same operation.
What is non-surgical rhinoplasty?
Filler injected to smooth a small hump or lift the tip. It is temporary and cannot make a nose smaller. It carries its own risks, including rare vascular complications, and is not suitable for everyone.
How do I prepare for surgery?
Stop smoking and vaping for at least 4 weeks before and after surgery; avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatories and some supplements (fish oil, vitamin E) for 2 weeks; arrange someone to take you home.
What is rhinoplasty?
Surgery that changes the shape, size or angle of the nose. It can reduce a hump, refine the tip, narrow or build up the bridge, straighten a crooked nose and improve breathing.
Who is a good candidate?
Healthy adults (and teenagers once the nose has finished growing — usually from about 16–17 for girls and 17–18 for boys) with realistic expectations, who are asking for the change themselves.
Open or closed?
Closed rhinoplasty uses incisions inside the nose only. Open rhinoplasty adds a small incision across the columella for direct access to the tip. The choice depends on what needs to change — it is made with you at consultation.
When is revision considered?
When a previous rhinoplasty has left over-reduction, a collapsed or pinched tip, asymmetry, a residual hump, a 'polly-beak' or breathing difficulty.
Why wait a year?
Swelling and scar tissue take about a year to mature. Operating earlier makes it hard to judge what truly needs correcting.
Are grafts needed?
Often. When septal cartilage was used or removed before, ear or rib cartilage may be needed to rebuild support.
What is a deviated septum?
The septum is the cartilage-and-bone wall dividing the nose. When it is bent it can narrow one or both airways, causing blockage, snoring or mouth-breathing.
Is septoplasty alone enough?
If appearance is not a concern, septoplasty alone may be enough. When the external nose is also crooked, the septum and outer framework usually need correcting together.
Will insurance cover it?
Some UAE insurers cover the functional part of the operation after an ENT assessment. Cosmetic changes are not covered. Check with your insurer.
What can tip surgery change?
Width (a bulbous tip), definition, projection (how far it sticks out), rotation (a drooping tip) and nostril asymmetry.
Why does the tip take longest to settle?
The tip skin is thicker and has more glands. Swelling there can take a year or longer to resolve fully, particularly with thick skin.
What is different about ethnic noses?
Skin thickness, cartilage strength and bridge height vary. Middle Eastern noses often have a strong hump and drooping tip; South Asian, African and East Asian noses may have a lower bridge, wider base and thicker skin.
Will I still look like myself?
That is the aim. Changes are planned against your own facial proportions, and computer imaging at consultation helps agree on a direction together.
How is it different from female rhinoplasty?
Men usually suit a straight or slightly convex bridge, a nasolabial angle closer to 90–95° and a less pinched tip.
When can I return to sport?
Light cardio from about three weeks, lifting from about six weeks, and contact sports only after about three months — typical guidance, confirmed at follow-up.
Every nose is planned individually.
A consultation starts with your face, your breathing and what you want to change.
